Low base damage high ias is good if you have CB. Mancatcher is the fastest base, while Giant Poleaxe or Stygian Pike has the most damage per a second. The spot in between balancing speed and dps goes to the Giant Thresher or Thresher.

Some will say one or the other for preferences, like CA has slow ias but a high base damage which can probably take down an initial monster in or or two hits. Stygian Pike/Giant Poleaxe has the best dps for almost all IAS breakpoints (but Stygian Pike has a lower strength requirement). GT has a little bit higher damage than a thresher, with the same weapon speed. Luckily I found a 4os eth giant thresher in the meantime. Cubing it to 4 sockets is the harder part (1 in 6 - 16.7 chance) I've found 10+ eth threshers in the last couple of months and none of them rolled 4os. These modifications combine the best ideas from both Diablo II and Path of Exile, two of the best ARPGs in existence. Eth thresher is not that rare sight in hell. Weapons can be acquired in different rarities and can be found while exploring dungeons, dropped by Enemies or Bosses or bought from Merchants. Weapons are the main way of dealing damage to Enemies, Bosses and other players in PVP. Giant Thresher can be equipped by all Classes. Giant Thresher is an Elite Polearm in Diablo 2. Only applies to Magic, Unique or Set items
